Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the „Terms") form an agreement between you and the developer of Horizn Budget Planner („Horizn", „the app", „we") about how you may use the app. By downloading or using Horizn you accept these Terms.

In short: Horizn is a budgeting tool you run on your own device — not a financial adviser and not a bank. You get a personal licence to use it. Your budget data stays on your device, so you are responsible for your backups. Subscriptions are sold and billed by the app store you downloaded from, and you manage them there. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer.

This agreement is between you and us alone. The app store you downloaded Horizn from is not a party to it and is not responsible for the app or its content. Section 10 adds the specific terms that each store requires.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non‑transferable, non‑exclusive licence to use Horizn on any mobile device that you own or control, subject to the usage rules of the app store you obtained it from. The app is licensed to you, not sold.

You may not: rent, lease, lend, sell or redistribute the app; copy it except as the licence allows; or reverse‑engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.

3. Horizn is not financial advice

This is the most important thing on this page.

Horizn is a calculator and record‑keeping tool. It helps you write down and organise your own numbers. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, and it does not recommend any product, service or course of action.

• Every figure in the app comes from data you enter, including exchange rates. We do not obtain rates, prices or valuations from any external source.
• Projections, goal dates, payoff dates, net worth and any other calculated values are estimates based on your input. They are not forecasts and not guarantees.
• Nothing in the app is an offer, solicitation or recommendation to buy, sell or hold any financial instrument.

Decisions about your money are yours. For advice about your particular situation, consult a qualified professional.

4. Your data and your backups

Horizn stores your budget data on your device, encrypted, and we operate no server for it. How that works — and what little information leaves your device — is described in the Privacy Policy.

Because we hold no copy of your data:

• we cannot recover it if you lose your device, delete the app, or erase your data from within the app;
• keeping backups is your responsibility. Your device's regular system backup (for example iCloud or Google backup) includes Horizn's data and restores it to a new device.

5. Free plan and Premium subscription

Horizn is free to use. Some features require a Premium subscription.

• Subscriptions are sold and billed by the app store you downloaded Horizn from, through your account with that store. Prices shown in the app are the prices that store sets for your region.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You manage and cancel them in your account with that store, not through us.
• Payment, refunds and billing disputes are handled by that store under its own terms. We do not process your payment details and never see them.
• If a subscription ends, Horizn keeps working: your data stays on your device and remains readable, but Premium features stop being available.

We may change which features are Premium in future versions. Changes will not retroactively remove access you have already paid for during a paid period.

6. Acceptable use

Use Horizn lawfully. Do not use it to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, or to attempt to interfere with the security of the app or of your device.

You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a „terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

7. Support

Support is provided by us, not by the app store. Write to help@horizn.world; see the Contact page for what to include. We never ask for your PIN, your financial data or a copy of your budget.

8. Warranties, and what happens if something is wrong

We provide Horizn with reasonable care, but we do not promise that it will be free of errors or that it will be available or compatible with every device or every future version of your device's operating system.

If you are a consumer, you keep all rights granted to you by mandatory law, including statutory warranty rights. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intentional misconduct, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data or profit arising from the use of Horizn — in particular for financial decisions you make based on figures the app calculated from data you entered (see section 3).

9. Claims and intellectual property

We, not the app store, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to Horizn or your possession and use of it, including: product liability claims; any claim that Horizn fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement; and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.

We, not the app store, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third‑party claim that Horizn or your use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights.

Horizn, its name, its design and its source code remain our property or that of our licensors. These Terms give you no rights to our trademarks. Third‑party components (for example the Space Grotesk typeface) remain subject to their own licences.

10. Terms specific to the store you downloaded from

Only the subsection matching your download source applies to you.

10.1. Apple App Store

If you obtained Horizn from the Apple App Store, the following applies and prevails over anything inconsistent elsewhere in these Terms:

• These Terms are concluded between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Horizn or its content.
• Your licence to use Horizn is limited to a non‑transferable licence to use it on any Apple‑branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
• Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services for Horizn.
• If Horizn fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to Horizn.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to Horizn as described in section 9; that responsibility is ours.
• You represent that you meet the legal‑compliance conditions in section 6.
• Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third‑party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance Apple has the right — and is deemed to have accepted the right — to enforce these Terms against you as a third‑party beneficiary.
• You must comply with any applicable third‑party terms of agreement when using Horizn.

10.2. Google Play

If you obtained Horizn from Google Play, these Terms are concluded between you and us only, not with Google. Google is not responsible for Horizn or its content, and does not provide maintenance or support for it. Your use of Google Play is additionally governed by the Google Play Terms of Service, and subscriptions are sold, billed and managed through your Google account.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms, for example when the app gains features, becomes available on another platform, or when the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page before they take effect. If you do not agree with a change, stop using the app; you may also cancel a subscription at any time as described in section 5.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually reside.

If you are a consumer and you disagree with our response, you may use out‑of‑court dispute resolution (ADR). Using it is voluntary and requires the agreement of both parties.

• The register of entities authorised to resolve consumer disputes out of court is maintained by the President of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK): https://polubowne.uokik.gov.pl.
• For cross‑border disputes within the EU, help is available from the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC‑Net): https://konsument.gov.pl for Poland.

None of this affects your right to bring the matter before a court.
