Spica by Horizn is an offline-first personal budgeting app. Your data stays on your device — there are no accounts and no sign-in. This page explains how to get help.

When you write, please include:

  1. Your device model and iOS version.
  2. What you expected to happen and what happened instead.
  3. Your installation identifier (SID) — the short code at the bottom of the Settings screen (for example HRZN-AB12-CD34). The in-app feedback form shows the SID, version/build, and system before sending and appends them to the message automatically. When emailing manually, paste the SID yourself.

We never ask for your PIN, your financial data, or a copy of your budget. You don't need to send any of that to get help.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up or move my data? Everything is stored on this device and is included in your system device backup (e.g. iCloud), so it moves to a new phone along with your backup. You can also use Import data to load a CSV file or a bank statement.

I forgot my PIN. On the lock screen choose to reset the PIN; you'll confirm your identity with Face ID (if enabled). For security, there is no remote recovery — Spica has no account.

How do I restore my Pro subscription? Open the Spica Pro screen and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought it with. To manage or cancel the subscription, go to https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

How do I import transactions from a file? Profile → Import data. File import is free. We support CSV files — including bank statements, as long as they have named columns (date, description, amount); just save the statement as CSV. The screen shows the exact column format, and before saving you get a preview with the number of transactions and skipped rows.

How do I export my data or make a backup? Two ways, depending on what you need. Profile → Export data (in the mission section) saves the active mission's transactions as a CSV file — for a spreadsheet or to load back in. Profile → Backup (in the App section) creates a ZIP archive with the whole app: every mission, your settings and attachments. Both are free, and you keep the file — nothing goes to any server.

How do I restore from a backup? Profile → Backup → Restore from backup. You get a preview of the archive contents, and you confirm the restore by typing a word, because data from the file REPLACES what is currently in the app. Your PIN and subscription status stay unchanged.

How do I delete everything? Profile → Danger zone → Delete all data. This permanently erases all data on the device, including your PIN and encryption key. It cannot be undone.

Which permissions does the app need, and why? Camera and Photos — only to attach a picture to a transaction. Face ID — only to unlock the app or reset your PIN. Notifications — only for local reminders. You can change these anytime in iOS Settings.
